Joint Techs report Note: 50 copies of the draft report taken to Joint Techs and none remained after the break on Wednesday morning (last day). Presentation on transport was well received; the slides are linked off http://www.internet2.edu/~shalunov/transport/ 3. New business Larry suggested that, given the low participation on several calls, the group make a decision to not have regular calls be canvassed around the group. Stanislav asked Steven a question regarding the API -- no extra demux? No default UDP port? Stanislav suggested either default port number is x, and there is extra demux for UDP OR all UDP goes to the UDP port with no extra demux. Steven asked if there were problems with exposing things that might be considered 'private data' in statistics; Stanislav thought this wouldn't be a problem. Part of the socket structure would be a function call. Steven added a select call and asked for group feedback; it would tell you if there was data ready on some socket. Discussion of name -- this will be discussed at later meeting (value of 'x'). ACTION ITEMS FROM THIS CALL: 1. Stanislav to develop a charter and side materials to request Internet2 working group status. [ETA for charter: 2005-02-25.] 2. Stanislav to revise the appendix, based on Larry's comments, and verify questions he has over equations in the document (see email). 3. Group to discuss whether weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or 'as-needed' calls would best suit the needs of the group and the work to complete. 4. Steven to continue working on the API document. 5. Group to discuss name of the tool within the API (tied to project name). Call ended at 12:37PM US/Eastern.
